In central Dalmatia, the north-eastern warm coastal stream generates a mild climate with dry, hot summers. The water is pleasantly cool from the beginning of May till the end of September. For lying around on the beach, the Kastel Riviera and the surrounding islands are perfect. It is easy to sail between the islands, the distances are small, so in a short time you can stop by in several places for a few hours.
The Mediterranean climate, wonderful beaches and interesting historic sights all make Northern Dalmatia an attractive place for millions of tourists year by year. Biograd na Moru is one of the gems in the area. It’s a unique Dalmatian town that offers relaxation to tired sailors on the land with its narrow alleys and limestone houses built tightly next to each other, providing shade in the summer.
Sibenik, the North-Dalmatian paradise, is one of the preferred cities among yacht owners. It is also an ideal starting-off point to explore the region. Wherever we drop our anchor, there are cosy bays and beaches welcoming us. Regarding culinary experiences, Sibenik is rich in restaurants offering many local specialities and their famous red Babic wine. Compared to other Adriatic medieval cities Sibenik is unique because it was not built directly by the coast, but by the banks of the Krka River. Basically, we are swimming here in a river.
North-Dalmatia is the paradise of boatmen. Its climate is hotter and more predictable than anywhere else on the Adriatic Sea. Flat, special-shaped islands stretch along the shore, about 1-2 kilometres from each other. Therefore, you can dock at several places and enjoy the magnificent beach of that area. What else makes a perfect evening than having a stroll in the old town of historic settlements; thereafter taking a seat on the terrace of a coastal restaurant, admiring the sunset while enjoying the delicious Dalmatian cuisine. I guess you agree with me what a wonderful place Sukosan is!
