Lefkada, a member of the Ionian Islands, is the best possible spot for water sports. It’s an ideal destination for families with older children. One of the main holiday resorts can be found on Vassiliki, which offers surfing and kayaking opportunities. The beach of Vassiliki is hundreds of meters long, and its waters are very clear. The Agios Ioannis beach (located 2 kilometres from Lefkada) is also a safe spot for families with small children with its shallow, slowly deepening water. We can get acquainted with the local plant life on organized trips, walking on the neat paths of Vallée de May. Children, of course, maybe more interested in the sea and the beaches. The three most popular ones are Anse Lazio, Anse Georgette, and Anse Volbert. The latter is a great choice for families; it has shallow, warm waters with snow-white sand. Unfortunately, the coastline here might contain coral debris. Sometimes, the shore and the water may also be seaweedy.
