Small boats (under a certain horsepower or length), electric boats, crewed yacht charters, and gulet charters may not require a license. Larger boats or those with more powerful engines need a skipper’s license. Before you confirm your sailing trip to Ibiza, please send us a copy and we will check it for you. You need to have the original copies on board, so don’t forget to take them.
To sail in Ibiza, one of the following qualifications is necessary: • ICC (International Certificate of Competence), International, with valid Navigational and VHF licenses Prerequisites: RYA “Day Skipper Course” or complete the ICC Assessment form to prove competence from previous experience.

The marina is located on the west coast of Ibiza, in the heart of the popular town of Sant Antoni de Portmany. It is one of the most popular ports in the Balearic Islands. Mooring fees vary depending on the season, being lower in the low season (January 1 to May 31 and October 1 to December 31) and higher in the summer peak season (June 1 to September 30). There are world-famous bars, cafes and restaurants here, with stunning views of the Ibiza sunset.
The smallest member of the Balearic Island, Formentera, can only be accessed from Ibiza by boat. There are 64 moorings, and the maximum allowed length of boats is 38 metres. They provide water, electricity and technical services.
Located in the heart of Ibiza Town, right next to the old town centre, Marina Botafoch enjoys a prime location, stunning views and direct access to Ibiza’s vibrant energy. This upscale marina caters to a sophisticated clientele and attracts celebrities, mega and luxury yachts. Due to its popularity, the berths at Marina Botafoch can fill up quickly, especially during the high season. Be sure to reserve your spot well in advance.
It is not a port in the traditional sense, with large facilities – limited equipment. This is a beautiful bay with a small beach on the east coast of Ibiza. It provides a picturesque and calm place for anchoring mainly small and medium-sized ships, away from the hustle and bustle of larger ports.
