The marina is located on the west coast of Ibiza, in the heart of the popular town of Sant Antoni de Portmany. It is one of the most popular ports in the Balearic Islands. Mooring fees vary depending on the season, being lower in the low season (January 1 to May 31 and October 1 to December 31) and higher in the summer peak season (June 1 to September 30). There are world-famous bars, cafes and restaurants here, with stunning views of the Ibiza sunset.
The smallest member of the Balearic Island, Formentera, can only be accessed from Ibiza by boat. There are 64 moorings, and the maximum allowed length of boats is 38 metres. They provide water, electricity and technical services.
Located in the heart of Ibiza Town, right next to the old town centre, Marina Botafoch enjoys a prime location, stunning views and direct access to Ibiza’s vibrant energy. This upscale marina caters to a sophisticated clientele and attracts celebrities, mega and luxury yachts. Due to its popularity, the berths at Marina Botafoch can fill up quickly, especially during the high season. Be sure to reserve your spot well in advance.
It is not a port in the traditional sense, with large facilities – limited equipment. This is a beautiful bay with a small beach on the east coast of Ibiza. It provides a picturesque and calm place for anchoring mainly small and medium-sized ships, away from the hustle and bustle of larger ports.
Spring (March – May):
This is the time when there isn’t much hustle and bustle yet, but you can already feel the season approaching. The air is fresh, the sun is shining brighter, and the bays are still empty. The water may still be a bit cold for a splash, but if you’re not the cold-weather type, it’s still a great time to go!
Summer (June – August):
The classic summer sailing adventure! The southeast wind blows the sails beautifully, and the sunsets are a sight to behold. However, be prepared that you won’t be alone: popular spots are often crowded, so it’s worth planning ahead when you’ll be anchoring.
Autumn (September – November):
If you ask me, September is one of the best times to go. The water is still warm, the crowds are dwindling, and the atmosphere is calmer. The harbors are breathing again, and nature is also taking a break from the summer rush. Around October, you can start to see more changeable days, but if you have a little flexibility, you can easily take advantage of the good weather.
Winter (December – February):
Here, only the real sea bears stay on board. The winds are often stronger, the weather is cooler, and the whole island is a bit sleepier. It’s not the classic holiday sailing, but for those who like a challenge, it can be a special experience.
