The Maldives has a tropical climate influenced by the monsoons. From late April to September comes the southwest monsoon accompanied by the wind and higher humidity. From October to December the northeast monsoon comes. It’s quieter and simply brings showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening, especially in the southern area. The driest period lasts from January to April and is felt more in the northern area. For most of the year, the temperatures vary from 25 °C to 30 °C. The rains occur in the form of short and intense downpour or thunderstorm. The Maldives can be occasionally reached by tropical cyclones.
