In Estonia, the climate is Baltic, but also slightly continental. The country is the northernmost of the Baltic republics, and it is also the coldest. The Atlantic currents have some difficulty in getting to Estonia. More often, cold air masses coming from the Arctic or from Russia move over the country. However, the western coastal areas are a bit milder because they receive a greater maritime influence. In summer temperatures reach 20-25°C. July is the warmest month but it can be rainy as well. Autumn and Winter are usually a little chilly and wet, sometimes snowy. In winter temperatures range around -5°C, but sometimes with temperatures far below zero, about -20°C. Precipitation distributed fairly evenly throughout the year.
