In Lithuania temperatures range between maritime and continental. Winters are freezy, and the summers are mild and moderately rainy. The weather is often breezy and humid due to the proximity of the Baltic Sea. In inland areas, the temperatures are a bit lower in winter and a bit higher in summer than on the coastal areas. In spring, the temperature gradually increases, the temperatures become pleasant in May. Average temperatures on the coast are around 3 °C in winter and 16 °C in summer. July is the warmest month with an average Temperature of 18°C. Autumn and Winter are usually a little chilly and wet. Precipitation falls throughout the year, but the coast is rainier than the interior.
