A first hop to Prvić or the bays of Murter stays well out of the swell and makes an easy start. Zadar Airport (ZAD) is a 50–75-minute road transfer, and Split (SPU) is about the same. The near archipelago of Prvić, Zlarin and Kaprije offers enough short, sheltered sailing to fill most of a week without a long passage. The crossing out to the Kornati is the one leg that needs a calm day, so keep the final day among the near islands. The park requires a ticket and anchoring is limited to marked bays, so plan the visit ahead. The outer Kornati and Žut lie further offshore; reaching them adds more open-water miles and a longer return, so that extension is better suited to a two-week itinerary.
