Why charter this Sun Odyssey 380
3 cabins for 6 berths means about 2 guests per cabin, so bag storage and sleeping turns are clear before departure. 6 guests per head matters on early marina mornings, when showers, breakfast and casting off compete for time. At 11,2 m, this sailing yacht works best when swim stops still leave time for the evening berth.
Best charter fit
Sun Odyssey 380 suits crews comparing cabin separation, luggage storage and bathroom timing across 3 cabins. Choose it for short hops or swim stops where boarding access, seating and deck storage matter more than sail handling.
The south coast of Mallorca and Cabrera from Palma
Palma sits at the head of its own broad bay, and a week’s cruising keeps to the sheltered south of Mallorca, from Port d’Andratx in the west round to the calas near Cala d’Or, with Cabrera standing off the southern tip. Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is only a short transfer from the bay marinas, a longer one from the eastern calas. Where day one goes depends on the berth: from the Bay of Palma, Cala Blava is a short hop out; from further east, the calas near Cala d’Or are the closer choice. Most of the south sits in the lee, so the miles stay gentle until Cabrera, which lies far enough offshore that the beat back across to the bay wants the morning breeze rather than the afternoon; its anchorage is a permit-only park mooring, so fix that before leaving. West of Andratx the Tramuntana throws its weather straight at the coast, exposed north-west miles that belong to a longer trip.
