Location of Moniga del Garda
Moniga del Garda is located in Lombardy, in the province of Brescia, Italy. It can be found on the southwestern part of Lake Garda. The town shares borders with Padenghe sul Garda, Soiano del Lago and Manerba del Garda.
History of Moniga del Garda
There is clear evidence to the fact that the town was already inhabited as early as in the Bronze Age. In 1196, they donated it to the monks of Leno. It belonged to Padenghe between 1928 and 1947.
Weather in Moniga del Garda
The area of Moniga del Garda is characterised by a mixture of Mediterranean and mountainous climate. In Moniga del Garda, the warmest period during the year is usually the end of July, when the average temperature is around 29.1 degrees. The end of February and the beginning of March are the driest. The wind in the area is fairly calm. Most of the tourists visit the place in July, followed by the June and August periods.
Main sights in Moniga del Garda
The famous Heller Garden can be found in Gardone Riviera on a hillside, providing a fantastic view. You can admire several hundreds of plants in the botanical garden. There are orchids, magnolias, ferns and cacti here. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes, as the path might be steep. Beside the wonderful plants, you can also see statues and ponds here as well. The garden is open from March to October.
The largest island of Lake Garda is Isola del Garda, located near San Felice del Benaco. It is the app. 1.1 kilometres long and only 70 metres wide. One of the main sights here is the Villa Borghese Cavazza. There are several types of plants on the island, including beautiful flowers, pines and cypruses. The place belongs to the Cavazza family but can be visited from April to October by tourists, too.
The gastronomy of Moniga del Garda
Moniga del Garda is famous for the Chiaretto rosé wine. If you visit the place, you must definitely try this light beverage with its fruity and flowery smell. The other town in the area, Bardolino, is famous for the red wine. Olive oil production also plays a key role in Moniga.

Lido Delle Bionde Beach (Sirmione)

There are a great bar and a restaurant on the beach as well. The narrow streets of the old city offer amazing ice cream places and gift shops.
Lido Cisano (Bardolino)
The beach is only a few minutes on foot from the centre of Bardolino. It is not sandy, but rather pebbly and grassy. There is a playground here, and the water level is not too high, making it an ideal spot for families with small children. There are great bars and restaurants around the beach.

The modern and well-equipped port in Moniga del Garda is famous for its excellent services. The place was established in 2005 according to the highest architectural standards. Port of Navene di Malcesine
Navene di Malcesine’s port offers more than 200 moorings for powerboats; they all have free access to running water and electricity. Showers are also provided in the clubhouse. The port has two boat lifts that can be used for transport. There are a nice restaurant and bar here as well. They also have a small gym and a private beach.
