Lefkada is the busy hub of the Inner Ionian, a base with everything to hand and a fleet leaving each afternoon into an inland sea of green islands and short, warm passages. Because it is a hub, the first evening is simply about the handover: provision in town and drop into the nearest sheltered bay, Nydri or Vlicho, or slip across to Meganisi if the day is young. Preveza Aktion Airport (PVK) is a 25–40-minute road transfer, with Ioannina (IOA) the longer drive inland. Meganisi, Kalamos, Kastos and Ithaca lie a couple of hours apart, a week’s sailing, with the open Kefalonia crossing the leg to time, so plan an earlier turnaround and hold the last day in the sheltered Meganisi channels.
