Why charter this Lagoon 50
6 cabins for 12 berths means about 2 guests per cabin, so bag storage and sleeping turns are clear before departure. 2.4 guests per head matters on early marina mornings, when showers, breakfast and casting off compete for time. At 14,8 m, this catamaran works best when swim stops still leave time for the evening berth.
Best charter fit
Lagoon 50 suits crews comparing cabin separation, luggage storage and bathroom timing across 6 cabins and 5 heads. Choose it for short hops or swim stops where boarding access, seating and deck storage matter more than sail handling.
Lipari and the Aeolians from Portorosa
Portorosa is a full resort marina on the north Sicilian coast near Milazzo, all pontoon berths, chandlery and quayside shops, so most crews spend the first evening stocking the boat and settling in rather than rushing off. Catania (CTA) and Palermo (PMO) airports are each a long coastal transfer, which makes that unhurried start the sensible one. The Capo Milazzo reserve on the peninsula next door is the shakedown before anything offshore. From here the Aeolians are a full day out and back across open water, so you build the week around one clear-weather window for the crossing, then several unhurried days among the deep anchorages of Lipari and Salina before the run in.
