Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) is a 60–100-minute road transfer, with Kavala (KVA) further east. Sithonia, the Toroneos Gulf and the Kassandra coast are a week of mostly protected sailing; only the open gulf mouths catch the afternoon breeze, so keep the return on the sheltered side. Mount Athos can only be looked at from offshore, never entered; the outer gulfs and the run toward the Sporades are the exposed extension, beyond a single week.
