Novi Vinodolski is an old Frankopan-castle town set right under the Velebit, the great limestone wall whose bora is the defining wind of this stretch of the Kvarner. Rijeka Airport (RJK) on Krk is the nearer gateway, with Zagreb (ZAG) the longer inland drive.
