Lavrion is the quickest way into the Cyclades, an Attic port an hour from Athens, with Cape Sounion and its clifftop Temple of Poseidon on the way out. Athens International Airport (ATH) is a 35–50-minute road transfer, closer than from central Athens. Serifos, Sifnos and the deeper Cyclades add exposed meltemi miles and a longer beat home, better saved for a trip timed to a lull in the northerlies.
