Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, in Northern Spain. It is located at the Adriatic Sea, north of the Pyrenees and the French border. Barcelona shares borders with the river Besós in the north and Llobregat in the south. Surrounded by the Coastal Range – part of to the Catalan Pyrenees – Collserola from the west and the Garraf Massif from the south. Its highest points are the Tibidabo and the Montjuic. Barcelona is the third-largest port city on the Adriatic Sea.
Small boats (under a certain horsepower or length), electric boats, crewed yacht charters, and gulet charters may not require a license. Larger boats or those with more powerful engines need a skipper’s license. Before you confirm your sailing trip to Barcelona, please send us a copy and we will check it for you. Barcelona is one of the most important port cities in the Mediterranean. The Port Vell can accommodate 148 vessels up to 190 metres long yachts. Drinking water, electricity and cable TV are available.

The city has a Mediterranean climate. Summers are long and hot. Still, in July and August, the daily maximum temperature is barely higher than 30 °C.
