The best time to sail in Agropoli is May-June and September-October. These months are the perfect mix of good weather, light winds and fewer crowds.
Spring (March-May): The weather is mild (15-22°C), with increasing sunshine. The wind is light to moderate, mainly from the west. The sea is generally calm, with occasional waves after winter storms.
Summer (June-August): Hot and dry during the day (25-35°C), long sunny days. The wind is light, mostly westerly breeze (Maestrale), sometimes hot in the afternoon. Mostly calm, ideal for sailing, but the sea is full of yachts and ferries.
Autumn (September-November): The weather is warm in early autumn (18-28°C), but cools down by November.
Winds can be stronger, especially in October and November, with the Mistral and Scirocco winds. The sea is usually calm in early autumn but can become rougher later.

Agropoli’s port

Salerno’s port
To the North is one of the busiest ports of the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is a large port with a territory of 10.4 square miles. The entrance is 280 metres wide, and the depth of the water may reach up to 13 metres.
The port of Marina d’Arechi (Salerno)

Amalfi
The famous Amalfi Coast is located about 30 nautical miles north of Agropoli. Sailing here offers stunning views of rugged cliffs, colorful villages and hidden coves. Amalfi itself is a bustling town with historic charm, fantastic seafood and scenic coastal walks. Marina Coppola is located in a sheltered bay, making it an excellent destination for novice sailors. The marina can accommodate 50 boats. Annual, monthly, 1-2 week, or even just 1 day charters are available. The maximum permitted yacht size is 35, and the water depth ranges from 8 to 11 meters. Naples

A peaceful sailing destination, Marina di Camerota offers unspoiled beaches, hidden coves and a charming fishing village atmosphere. The waters here are ideal for diving and exploring underwater caves.
Tropea
Further south, along the Calabrian coast, Tropea is a breathtaking cliff-top town with white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. The medieval monastery of Santa Maria dell’Isola, perched on a cliff, offers an unforgettable view.
Marina Piccola(Sorrento)
Marina Piccola is located in a small bay of the Sorrento Peninsula, just a few steps away from the city center. It has great access to the main tourist attractions of the Amalfi Coast and the Capri Islands. It can accommodate boats with a maximum draft of 6 meters. Sailing in Agropoli: Plan for a one-week-long sailing trip
Our trip starts in Agropoli, and that is where we return after exploring the towns nearby.
Day 1. Agropoli – Santa Maria di Castellabate
12.16 km (7.55 nm)
The town can be found only 12 kilometres from Agropoli. It’s an attractive place for tourists, especially in the summer. Santa Maria di Castellabate is located in a wonderful natural environment, and it belongs to the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park. The seawater is very clean; it has been rewarded the Award every year since 2003. You can spend the night in the port of the city.
Day 2. Santa Maria di Castellabate – Acciaroli
18.21 km (11.31 nm)
This peaceful fishing town becomes a special tourist attraction every summer. The quality of the seawater here is so good that it’s been given the and Five Sails awards. The port of Acciaroli is a popular spot among sailors and can accept several boats and luxury yachts. The restaurants and bars offer a wonderful view of the sea. You can spend the night in the port of the city.
Day 3. Acciaroli – Palinuro

Palinuro is a small beach resort. If you anchor here, you can expect a nice environment and a clean sea. They visit the town most frequently in July and August. Apart from these months, there is a calm atmosphere here. You should explore the restaurants, bars and clubs nearby! You can spend the night in the port of the city.
Day 4. Palinuro – Marina di Camerota

Our next stop is Marina di Camerota, which has a truly beautiful beach. The sea is amazing, and the beaches are wide and sandy. Its finest part is the Punta degli Infreschi, accessible from the port by boat. It’s a protected nature reserve. You can spend the night in the port of Marina di Camerota.
Day 5. Marina di Camerota – Scario
14.08 km (8.75 nm)
On this day we are going to sail northeastward and anchor in Scario, which is protected by steep cliffs, covered with trees.We can experience the authentic Mediterranean atmosphere here. We arrive at the port among the small church tower, leanders and palm trees. The center of the city is just a a few steps away from here.Scario is a great destination for hiking and bathing.After dropping anchore at the port you should visit Lungomare di Scario and Farod o Scario.
Day 6. Scario – Sapri

On the 6th day we are going to continue our journey to the northeast, to Sapri. The main tourist attractions of the town are its natural endowments: crystal clear water, beautiful promenades, small beaches sheltered by rocks. Not far from the coast great Italian restaurants, bars and ice cream shops are waiting for us.
Day 7. Sapri – San Marco di Castellabate – Agropoli
89.21 km (55.43 nm)
You can find this town 2 kilometres from Santa Maria di Castellabate. It’s long, sandy beach is a true gem in Pozzillo, Cilento. It leads to the remains of the old port. The pleasant, clean water and the sea bottom are suitable for scuba diving. Finally, we return to our starting point, Agropoli.Agropoli is located in the Campania region in the County of Salerno. It is the most important town on the beaches of Cilento. Would you like swimming? Choose the beautiful Bay of Trentova! The water is especially clear here, and it’s ideal for swimming from May to September. You can try watersports such as jet ski, surfing, and scuba diving. There are many restaurants, cafés, and shops in the city. If you are looking for a gastronomic experience, try the pizza, the frutti di mare or the local desserts.
